Andy Byron: Music

Monday

(Copyright 2007 Andy Byron Music ASCAP)

Early Monday morning the alarm goes off
Drag myself out of the bed
Fumble through my closet for an unwrinkled shirt
Round up the kids all hidin’ in the shed
I’m red in the face, I’m red in the eyes
Everything tells me it’s the day I despise

Monday, another Monday
Comes too fast, it’s always that way
If anything can happen it’ll happen today
Monday, I hate Monday

Late again for work and the car won’t start
Dog made a mess on the floor
If my lady tells me that she’s pregnant again
I’m walkin’ right out of the door
She tells me, “Lindsey needs this and Casey needs that”
Rollin’ down the driveway I run over the cat

Monday, another Monday
Comes too fast, it’s always that way
If anything can happen it’ll happen today
Monday, I hate Monday

Now Tuesday’s just great and Wednesday’s just fine
Thursday, Friday I don’t mind
Saturday comes uncork a bottle of wine
But Sunday slips on by me and I’m all outta time

Now some guy name of Murphy he made up a law
I dare somebody prove to me where Murphy was flawed
When he said that anything will go wrong that can
Just look at me I’m drownin’ and I’m standin’ on land

Monday, another Monday
Comes too fast, it’s always that way
If anything can happen it’ll happen today
Monday, I hate Monday
